Item Description
4.5" long nicely illustrated cardboard box contains watch w/1.25" dia. chromed metal case and version w/metal link band as opposed to leather. Ingersoll, 1934. Box features same illustration on lid/inside lid of Practical Pig building his brick house w/inset image of The Big Bad Wolf. Rest of box is brick design. This same box was used for the Three Little Pigs pocket watch but is marked at lower right corner of lid "Pocket $1.50" whereas this is designated "Wrist" but w/"3.75" price (this area has some scattered surface paper loss). Complete w/die-cut brick insert to hold watch. Insert is Exc. w/just lt. wear. The box has obvious wear w/heavy staining at corner but is complete w/hinged lid intact. Box remains tight. Exterior is VG, interior is VF. Dial features profile portrait of the Wolf at center w/full body images of the Three Little Pigs above him. Has five link band (missing three links but could be replaced using any Ingersoll of the time period) as well at the two decorative links featuring Mickey Mouse on both as opposed to Big Bad Wolf and Pigs. Both have some black paint accents remaining. Watch retains near full luster and dial has deep, rich color. Running and Exc. One of the rarest and most sought after Disney timepieces, very rare as boxed.
