Auction #211 - Part II
Item numbers 1197 through 2870 in auction 211
Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 6" long by 8" tall toy w/built-in key. Plastic w/tin litho wheels. Marx. 1950s. Great design w/striking large carrot as radiator ornament and a relief plastic chick and duckling on either side of hood. Toy works and travels around in erratic fashion as rabbit's head spins, ears go back and forth and every so often car rears up. Toy shows just lt. wear on rear wheels. Rest of toy displays Mint. Wind-up mechanism works but is a bit temperamental. Neat toy, much scarcer than other "Eccentric Cars" produced in the 1950s due to the fact it was only sold over a few Easter seasons and the fragile plastic parts were often broken. Box is evenly aged w/trace of wear along edges but is o/w Exc. and complete w/original cardboard box insert. Rare box/insert. As nice as these come.
