Item Description
Ribbons were sold by the Navy League during WWII to raise war funds. All are 2.25x5-3/8” in assorted colors w/submarine image and date launched. All include text “Kittery, Maine/Souvenir Portsmouth New Hampshire Launching/Remember Pearl Harbor”. Launch dates range from 1938 to 1943. Sub names are: “Sculpin, Seawolf, Grayling, Scamp, Scorpion, Snook, Cisco, Capelin” A few have a minor crease, otherwise clean and Exc. Comes with 7-3/8x9.5” extensively illustrated soft cover book w/178 pages titled “U.S. Submarine Losses” published by Navy Pearl Harbor in 1946. Book lists 52 lost subs, including the eight on these ribbons, and all officers and enlisted men. Front cover has “Cdr. Tyree” original owners name in ink. Lt. cover dust soil and aging, a few lt. creases. Fine. Historical ribbons w/limited distribution.
