Item Description
8.5x11x1.5" deep box contains #1516 Saalfield 500-piece puzzle. ©1940 Superman Inc. Box lists four puzzles in series, this is "Superman Saves A Life". Box is tight and solid. Lid has some lt. corner tip wear w/scattered lt. color rubs along edges. Left and right side panels have surface paper lift from tape removal and main lid panel has some scattered age spotting. Fine/VF. Complete puzzle has an overall assembled size of 16x20". Box has inset photo of the assembled puzzle that depicts Superman stopping a steam shovel from falling down hill. Image is from the cover of "Action Comics" #22. Puzzles were produced in both 500-piece and 300-piece versions. Puzzle pieces are Exc. w/exception of three pieces that show minor wear and some minor 1/8" surface paper loss. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
