Item Description
Whitehead & Hoag created this button in 1896 to advertise their buttons and badges. Theirs featured the same three black boys laying down as if watching a street procession. The self-promotion version reads "Here Comes Dee Parade/Jus Look At Dem Badges." This one has the same kids but with text "Elgin Sewing Machine And Bicycle Co./Elgin, Ill/Here Comes De Prosesh/Jus Watch Dem Gunning Bicycles." Essentially Mint and complete with the W&H paper on the reverse. Rare.
