Item Description
Silver luster metal badge is comprised of three circular spoke wheel designs with spread wing eagle at the center. Top has a loop holding a flat piece of metal that would serve as a fastener to go through a button hole. Reverse of the piece carries serial number "1952." Front of the piece reads "11th Natl/Jan 7-14/Jan 16-21/A.L.A.M./1911." This group was originally formed around 1900 as the Manufacturer's Mutual Association. It was an organization formed to challenge the patent litigation of the automobile pioneer George B. Selden and the Electric Vehicle Company. The group was the most powerful in the early automobile industry and controlled licensing arrangements. Slight loss of silver luster. VF and rare.
