Item Description
First poster is 22.25x28" thin cardboard for Jan. 22, 1962 professional wrestling exhibition at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Poster's top attraction is the Johnny Valentine and Bearcat Wright match against Buddy Rogers (who is pictured in photo at left) and Bob Orton. Johnny Valentine was the father of professional wrestler Greg Valentine and Bob Orton was the father of professional wrestler Cowboy Bob Orton and the grandfather of current wrestling star Randy Orton. Second-billed match listed is for Antonio Rocca vs. The Crusher (Reginald Lisowski). Rocca and Miguel Perez are featured in photo at lower right. Third-billed match is for tag-team match featuring wrestling superstar Bruno Sammartino. Poster has small ink stamp and scattered staple holes around margin and 1.25" to 1.5" by 13" long streak of moisture staining along bottom left margin. 1.5" tear just above Rocca and Perez image. Faint vertical crease at center. VG, but still displays nicely. Second poster also measures 22.25x28" and is on thin cardboard for March 19, 1962 professional wrestling exhibition at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Poster's top attraction is the Cowboy Bob Ellis match against Buddy Rogers (who is pictured in photo at right). Second-billed match listed is for tag-team match featuring Rocca and Valentine vs. Bernard and Murphy. Rocca is pictured at left. Poster has some corner tip wear at left w/surface paper off and some margin wear. Left and right center margins have small holes from posting. VG overall. Very limited print runs and few of these posters survived being posted around town.
