Item Description
2-1/8" long, no gum on the blank white reverse. Additional front text reads "7th War Loan 1945/Issued In Cuyahoga County, Ohio." Pyle was an immensely popular war correspondent reporting from both Europe and the Pacific until his death in combat on a Pacific Island in 1945. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1944. His columns appeared in some 300 newspapers. He is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery Of The Pacific, Punchbowl, Ohau, Hawaii. One seen. Rare.
