Item Description
2.25" real photo without dot pattern. Rim is light blue with black lettering unlike our one other example with gray rim that realized over $1,300 way back in Auction #166. Rim also reads: "The Mystic Order Of The Jungle." The mirror was used to promote the 1920 National Film Corporation 15-chapter serial. The photo shows Akut the ape (played by a midget) and P. Dempsey Tabler as Tarzan, both in the foreground while in the background to the right we believe the female character pictured to be Karla Schramm as Jane. The foreground foliage is tinted green. The mirror has .5x1" area at edge with hairlines in the silvering but over 95% unaffected. Celluloid has only minor and typical surface wear in reflected light. Rare and Exc. Photo matches a 1.25" button and these pieces were likely used only in the Baltimore area. Rare.
