Item Description
This scarce ring from Wheaties in 1940 was titled “Jack Armstrong Dragon’s Eye Ring.” It is essentially designed like a Buck Rogers ring titled the “Ring Of Saturn.” White plastic bands are designed as crocodiles with open jaws. Ring top has a raised very dark emerald green simulated oval stone. On this outstanding example, the green stone is much more translucent (and attractive) than on the vast majority that are dark green, but so dense that light does not enter the plastic. When glowing in the dark, this plastic stone becomes the “Dragon’s Eye” as it does not glow while the rest of the ring does glow. Bottom of one band has tiny gray mark, as typical, where ring came off the casting sprue. One band is a bit darker tone than the other but entire base glows brightly. Scarce.
