Item Description
2.25" with slight darkening of the silvering on the perimeter of the mirror but with nearly all silvering intact. Image side is a real photo without dot pattern showing the two girls, one in black face. The Duncan Sisters appeared in these signature roles in a 1923 musical comedy derived from the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. They began their stage career in 1911 and were stars on the Vaudeville circuit as well as in night clubs and on stage in both New York and London. "Topsy & Eva" was a huge hit and inspired a 1927 silent movie that included some scenes by famed director D.W. Griffith. We've seen this once as a 1.75" button but this is the first as a pocket mirror. Surface has fairly numerous but very light hairline scratches showing only in reflected light and the piece displays glossy and Mint.
