Item Description
First is the earlier 1947 premium consisting of a yellow and black 4.25" long metal tube. Inserted in one end of the tube and removable is a 2.5" long clear plastic and brass piece which combines a whistle and a magnifier. Side of the tube lists signals which could be sent by reflecting light using the manually operated reflector panel on the right end of the tube. Left end of the tube is coated in a material that will glow in the dark. Small bits of this have worn off but what remains still produces a nice soft glow after light exposure. Paint shows some small wear marks but overall in Fine condition with all aspects functioning. Next is the 1952 Peter Pan Peanut Butter premium consisting of a 4.75" long plastic tube with most of it wrapped in a paper label showing Sky King along with various Western symbols and a code for various words represented by dashes and dots. The removable bottom plastic piece has a .75" hairline crack but the rest of the piece remains totally clean. It is missing a cardboard stand and ten tiny microscope specimens such as rocks and minerals but included is the 5" long black paper with a map and Indian symbols printed upon it which still glows visibly in the dark after a minute of so exposure to light. A few of the small notations on the map are "Canyon Of Lost Cattle" and "Navaho Indian Territory." The map is noteworthy in that it is one of the very few paper items issued as a premium with glow in the dark powers as opposed to those comprised of plastic materials. Couple tiny edge nicks but overall Exc.
