Original Juro/Sears illustrated cardboard shipping box contains 24" tall ventriloquist dummy by Juro Novelty Co. First issue ventriloquist dummy, c. 1950s. Doll features separate jaw that moves via pull string on back of neck. Padded fabric arms/legs w/high quality fabric outfit and painted composition head, hands and padded fabric feet w/oilcloth shoes. Jacket has "Paul Winchell's Jerry Mahoney" tag w/portraits of both. Unused, but head exhibits typical crazing. Dummy is o/w bright, clean and VF. Box shows wear from shipping and is aged. Fine overall. Paul Winchell was an American ventriloquist, voice actor and comedian whose entertainment career flourished in the 1950s and 1960s. From 1950-1954, he hosted "The Paul Winchell Show," also known as, "The Speidel Show" and "What's My Name?" From 1965-1968, Winchell hosted the children's television series, "Winchell-Mahoney Time." Ventriloquist dummy comes w/"How To Be A Ventriloquist" booklet w/several pages of bw photo images of ventriloquists w/dummies. Great accompaniment. Also comes w/original Sears price tag w/inked price of $5.95.
