Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" stiff paper card issued by various newspapers in May, 1931. Floyd Gottfredson Mickey Mouse daily strip storyline from May, 1931 involved Mickey having his picture taken, which was then offered as a premium to readers. The image that appears on this card is the exact same image that appeared in the May 27, 1931 strip. Superb image depicts Mickey posing for the photo while Butch appears behind him in a suit of armor. Facsimile signatures below read "Gobs Of Good Wishes Mickey Mouse - Me Too Butch." Scattered handling wear w/creases and lt. aging as well as some corner tip foxing. Fine. Despite the overwhelming success of this premium offer, this card is extremely rare and we have only offered a few in our 47 years. For additional information and reprints of the story line strips, see pages 23-25 and 37 of Disneyana by Munsey. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
