Complete set of 12 hardcovers, each 6.25x8.5". Published by D.C. Heath and Co. between 1939 and 1948. Books feature a wide range of Disney characters and are along the same line as Dick and Jane books used to teach children to read, books becoming progressively harder as child moved from one book to the next in the series. This is the complete set of 12 (a Bongo book was proposed and is listed on some title pages, but never published). Books have varying degrees of aging w/some having some corner tip wear. Cover conditions range from VG/Fine to VF. Interiors remain clean and bright. One book has inked inscription on inside front cover, one has remnants/surface paper lift to inside front cover, one has inked price on inside front cover/first page. A few have eraser marks from removing penciled prices. "Little Pig's Picnic And Other Stories" has 1.5x8" strip of frontispiece paper missing along right, inside back cover. Aside from these issues, interiors are VF overall. Titles include - "Water Babies' Circus And Other Stories, Here They Are, Mickey Never Fails, Dumbo Of The Circus, Donald Duck And His Nephews, Walt Disney's Pinocchio, Mickey Sees The U.S.A., School Days In Disneyville, Little Pig's Picnic And Other Stories, Walt Disney's Bambi, Donald Duck And His Friends" and "Donald Sees South America." Several of the advanced reader books are scarce and these books are rarely offered as a set. This is only the third time we've been able to do so in our 47 years.
