c. 1964. Large 21x26.5x2" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid label contains boxed and sealed 12" tall Ken doll and 11.5" tall Barbie doll, both in "Arabian Nights" costumes. Each has original Mattel foil tag around wrist and comes w/doll stand. Barbie is brunette swirl ponytail straight leg doll while Ken is straight leg doll w/molded brunette hair. Barbie has original plastic bag over head and earrings in place as issued, w/some greening to her ears as a result. Ken is NM while Barbie is VF/Exc. as packaged. Rest of set appears complete w/most outfits still attached and consists of Barbie outfits #872 Cinderella, #873 Guinevere, the aforementioned "Arabian Nights" outfit #874; Ken outfits #772 The Prince, #773 King Arthur and the aforementioned "Arabian Nights" outfit #774. Each outfit pair comes w/character/theme-specific illustrated Mattel folder as well general Mattel illustrated catalog. Outfits appear complete w/all accessories including plastic helmet and sword/scabbard for Ken, magic lamp for "Arabian Nights" set and broom and pillow w/glass (clear plastic) slipper for Cinderella. Outfits are Exc. Box shows some wear, mainly to lid as it is a lift-off lid. Box exterior is evenly aged and left side panel has 2" tear. Lid has some color rubs to label. Fine overall. Insert remains bright and clean. Very rare set, rarely found complete and in this choice condition.
