Item Description
18" tall. From 1938. Multiple size/style dolls were produced that year by not only Ideal, but also Knickerbocker and Krueger. Ideal made this larger size doll in two versions, this is composition version, while the other version had oilcloth head/arms. Both came in this same style dress which is rayon w/silk-screened images of the Dwarfs along w/their names, forest animals and cottage facade. Top is velvet as is cape. One-piece slip/pantie combination. Original outfit is very nice quality and complete including leatherette shoes. As made w/Snow White head and outfit on body marked "Shirley Temple 18." Face has detailed painted features, sleep eyes (w/moderate aging), open mouth (w/teeth) and doll has life-like hair. Body and face has lt. stabilized crazing. Shoes have some paper remnants from storage adhered to surface. Dress imprint remains strong. Fine/VF overall.
