Item Description
First is 1.75" tall with very high relief portrait and name below "King Oscar." Enamel at upper left and lower right has pair of small darker areas due to interior fracture but no enamel actually missing. On the reverse around the hollow area for the embossed face on the front is text "J.C. Herman & Co. Makers, Harrisburg, Pa. Established 1864." Below is tiny text for maker W&H. Back left side has some minor darker tarnish. Next shows bulldog captioned by text "Won't Bite." White enamel outer ring has some marks with a few small hairline scuffs on the dog's body but mostly just catching reflected light. Good bit of luster remains on the front although mostly gone from the back which has extensive text "Bulldog Cut Plug Is The Original 'Wont' Bite' Tobacco/Others Claim It-We Have It/Lovell-Buffington Tobacco Co. Covington, KY." Tiny text names maker Bastian. Both are scarce fobs from the early 1900s.
