Item Description
First is 2-1/8" button with curious text "Kit Kats/Expeditionary Force" with center text "Mobilization/Draft Number 509/May 16, 1941." Next is metal frame 2-3/8" tall holding celluloid over real photo of a man with his identification plaque along the bottom edge of the photo. Has a five digit serial number comprised of zeroes with word "Tank" at the top and "Office" running down the left. Next are one plus a duplicate of a button we've never seen before. Shows horse surrounded by horseshoe with text "Pitch In, Racing! Keep 'Em Flying." Has tiny initials "N.R.C." probably referring to some professional horse racing organization. Next is isolationist theme button reading "Member/Peace For America/Keep America Safe For Americans." Next is scarce "Keep 'Em Smiling" button. Next are a pair of lapel studs the first in enamel from the company "Blaw-Knox/100% For The U.S.A./War Production Worker." Next is a celluloid showing coiled snake with text "Don't Tread On Me/W.A.C." We don't know the significance of the initials. Next are two slogan buttons followed by a quite unusual litho tin shield with upper edge that wraps around a bar pin. This shows Uncle Sam with rifle over his shoulder as he marches to war, a concept most frequently seen on Spanish American War 1898 buttons. Very trivial wear to the litho tin but displays Mint as do the rest of these.
