Item Description
.75" with reverse stud stamped "Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark N.J." The manufacturing style of this piece is consistent with the founding of "The Cody Club" by George T. Beck, politician and businessman, in Cody, Wyoming in 1900. The group was first organized as a sportsman's club and nearly every man in the county joined including Col. William F. 'Buffalo Bill' Cody, who was elected permanent first Vice President. The club went through periods of great activity as well as dormancy and eventually in 1919 a commercial club was organized which evolved into the Cody Chamber of Commerce. This piece dates from the earliest years of the organization. It is N. Mint and displays Mint. Only 2nd seen in 5 decades.
