Item Description
Set of five pieces by Faiencerie d'Onnaing China Co. of France (see scarcer egg cup by this company, #1769, bank #1767). 1936. Set includes 2.25" tall by 4.25" dia. tea cup, 6" dia. saucer, 7.5" plate, 9.25" dia. plate and 9.5" dia. soup bowl. This personalized set was produced for one of the factory's employees as tea cup, both plates and soup bowl have gold luster "Francine" name accents. As this was a specially-produced set not designed for retail sale, company markings were not applied to undersides. Small plate has central image of Minnie Mouse while larger plate and soup bowl features two different central images of Mickey Mouse. Edges (exterior of cup) of these and other piece are decorated w/various smaller images of Mickey, Minnie and Pluto, each w/small "Walt Disney" name below. Some of these images repeat from piece to piece. Edges have gold luster accent rims. Scattered wear to images and gold luster accents. Fine-VF overall. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
