Item Description
Beautifully designed 1-1/16" British made enamel on brass pin with horizontal pin across the reverse. Front has green wreath wrapped in white enamel ribbons all surrounding a die-cut red enamel letter "V" at center while below is the Latin phrase which translates to Always Faithful. Valentino was a movie icon and sex symbol of the 1920s with his most famous silent films being The Sheik, Blood And Sand, and The Eagle. His death in 1926 caused pandemonium in New York City as 10,000 people attempted to pay their respects at his funeral and suicides of despondent fans were reported. A train took his body across the country for a second funeral on the West Coast. This particular piece was made for his legions of adoring fans in the United Kingdom. The only example known to us and essentially Mint.
