Item Description
The wallet shaped item is 2.75x2.75". It has the look of leather but is really stiff cardboard. Front shows character trademark of intertwined horseshoes. Front panel lifts up to reveal a pinned on 2-1/8" tall silver luster metal star badge with a black and white insert photo of Wild Bill Hickok and his partner Jingles. The fold line on the wallet is quite fragile and already partially split but still fully holding together. There are two interior pouches and one of these holds a very tanned "Official Identification Card/Wild Bill Hickok Deputy Marshal." This includes an inked fingerprint of the original owner who inked his name were indicated. Card has a couple of scuffs, small crease and 1/8" edge tear. Rarely found as a complete unit, usually just the metal badge has survived. Mid-1950s.
