Item Description
Brass ring has adjustable bands with 3 propeller blades shown on each side while top has aerial view of Clipper plane in flight with tiny bkg. details representing water and land. The first Clipper flight occurred in November 1935 and was considered such a remarkable advance in aviation technology that a 1936 movie starring Pat O'Brien was released detailing the account of the initial flight and comparing the accomplishment to that of Lindbergh. This ring was promoted in Sunday newspaper ads in conjunction with the movie promotion. Extremely Fine. Very small luster loss from lower narrow bands. Top half is NM. Matching 2-1/8" wide wings badge has minor bend on bar pin. Luster is NM.
