The usual 1920 Debs button specifying the convict number "9653" is on a design which shows him against the background of bars. This is the only example we've seen with this "9653" number on design without bars. No backpaper as issued but with union bug on curl. Typical tan oxidation on metal reverse but no stain. Front is perfectly centered and has extremely high gloss. In reflected light, there are a couple of faint hairlines on his right cheek and a near pinpoint rub on his right eyebrow but these are very trivial marks which do not show at all when viewed normally.
