13x17" muslin fabric offered through newspapers as "The First Flag Of Comics" in 1937 for 10¢ w/mail-in coupon. Flag features nine panels w/characters including Popeye and Olive Oyl, Krazy Kat and Ignatz, Flash Gordon, Maggie and Jiggs, Tillie The Toiler, Toots and Casper, Little Annie Rooney, Katzenjammer Kids, Barney Google and Snuffy Smith. Very lt. traces of wear w/a few small scattered age spots, but colors remain strong and flag displays nicely. Exc. Scarce.
