7.25" long. Made by Marchal and presented to Hal Foster as part of his appearance on "This Is Your Life" on April 14, 1954. 14K link chain holds 16 different 14K charms commemorating major events in Foster's life from birth until the time of the show. Combined weight of chain/charms is 53.5 grams. First charm is the smallest (just a circular disc) stamped by maker Marchal. Remaining charms are flat or figural w/dates and include - map of Nova Scotia "8-16-92" (Foster's birthdate), figural canoe w/"Canoe Club Winnipeg 1913" text, figural bride and groom w/"3-25-15" date (his marriage), "Birth Certificate" for son Edward L. w/"1916" date, "Lake Rice - 1917", pair of baby shoes (one dated 1919, w/other son w/Arthur J. name), "Chicago - Aug. 1919", "Chicago Art Institute - Jan. 1921", figural female artist at easel, "Prince Valiant" w/horse logo and "Created 1936" text, figural house w/text "Val-Hal-En Redding, Conn.," "Banshee's Award" artist's palette (w/painted spots), relief "King Arthur's Castle Cornwall, England 1953" and final charm - April, 1954 calendar page w/small diamond covering "16" date, commemorating TV show appearance. Exc. A truly remarkable high quality, one-of-a-kind item from one of the top comic strip artists in history. These presentation bracelets are rarely offered for sale. At a 2010 Christie's auction, the bracelet given to Roy Rogers sold for $20,000.
