Item Description
12-7/8x14" handled paper bag w/nice art image of Howdy includes text "I've Been To The Howdy Doody Show" w/text across bottom reading "Watch Me On Color TV Saturday Morning On N.B.C." Art/text is repeated on both sides. "Hand E Bag" by Equitable Paper Bag Co., Inc. 1950s. "The Howdy Doody Show" was heavily used in the promotion of sales of color TVs in the 1950s as NBC was owned at the time by TV-maker RCA. Bag has some moderate scattered aging/moisture staining and shows some scattered handling creases. VG. Scarce. Comes w/7-1/8x9" bw news service photo showing Howdy Doody marionette posing w/cake w/"'5'" and "'Colgate'" text, referencing five years of Colgate-Palmolive sponsoring the show. Typed caption sheet attached to back, which also has 1954 newspaper ink stamp. Photo has handling wear w/some creasing and aging to back. Fine overall. Rare photo.
