Item Description
3.5x3.75x1.75" deep tin litho articulated bank features 3.75" dia. tin litho spoked automobile w/whitewall tire design. Tire has coin slot on front side. c. 1925. Front view of automobile from this era on front of bank, w/man and two women in car. "Jitney Bank" text above; jitney is an old term for a car or shared ride taxi. Bank base and rim of wheel shows wear, w/streak of bare metal showing on whitewalls from where wheel rubbed against metal as it revolved on screw axle. Scattered wear by screw w/some small flakes off. Fine. Neat design.
