Item Description
13x17", with slightly trimmed margins, sheet of stiff paper to which is mounted a thinner paper 10.25x13.75". Thin sheet has his image, facsimile signature and text "From Life & On Stone By Chas. Fenderick/Printed By P.S. Duval Lith Philadelphia." The text below his signature is printed on the stiffer paper and reads "Governor Of The State Of Tennessee/Published In Washington City By Chas. Fenderick/And Sold By Wm. A. Colman, New York Cy./Entered According To Act Of Congress In The Year 1838, By Chas. Fenderick & Co. In The Clerk's Office Of The District Court Of The Eastern District Of Pennsylvania." The University of Tennessee and the Smithsonian have this print in collections but we've not found auction results. There are two horizontal and one vertical fold lines from long, long ago but they show very little, primarily a 5" hairline at upper left. Light moisture mark down left side of blank reverse but not showing on front which is exceptionally fresh. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
