Original 8.25x11.25x1.75" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains painted cast-iron Arcade set No. 4329. c. 1939. Issued when use of Arcade's newly designed boxes was made standard. Smaller of two sets produced, this set includes 4.25" long Dump Truck No. 2320 w/solid white rubber tires, wheelbarrow w/black rubber tire, nickel-plated shovel and pick, and painted cast-iron signs w/raised "Road Closed, Slow" and "Men Working Ahead" text. Last item is small painted cast-iron pennant flag. All pieces are on/attached to neatly crafted replacement die-cut cardboard insert. Scattered wear, w/some edge flakes and lt. paint wear. White tires have aged but are complete and intact. Shovel has .25x.75" streak of plating off side. Fine/VF overall. Box lid has one corner split and shows lt. corner tip/edge wear. VG/Fine.
