Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid features Trylon and Perisphere image in Fair colors. Box is complete w/die-cut insert and has some edge wear. Fine overall. Box contains 2" dia. case pocketwatch. Center of dial has stylized image of the Trylon and Perisphere buildings. Smaller inset second hand dial has "1939" date. Reverse of case has nice "New York World's Fair" decal w/Trylon and Perisphere. Small chips to outside border of this decal. Rest of decal has trace aging and remains complete. Tiny scuff to silvered case at 5 o'clock. Watch's crystal has yellowed w/age and is loose but clean. Tiny generic second hand is missing but could be replaced w/any similar hand. Watch is overwound and needs a cleaning. Despite these issues, watch still retains an Exc. appearance. Our last example of this watch (working and in better condition) sold for $863. A rare and impressive timepiece.
