Photo was taken on the Atlantic City, NJ. boardwalk in front of the Convention Center for the 10th Anniversary of the Disney Ice Capades, which began in 1940 as noted by "Tenth Anniversary Edition - July 1940 To 1949 - Atlantic City New Jersey" text at bottom right. Photo has Fred Hess & Son "HCSS" photographer mark at lower right (as well as ink stamp on reverse), noting photo was taken by a photographer known for his Miss America photo shoots, which also took place in Atlantic City. Majority of cast appears in costume, many wearing ice-skates. Of note, there are four Disney costumed characters shown - Pinocchio, Pluto, Donald Duck and large, two-man Dumbo costume at center. Bkg. features large "Ice Capades" sign featuring Disney graphics showing Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Pinocchio and Dumbo, w/art repeated on both sides. Additional signage for "Walt Disney Toy Shop" can be partially seen behind heads of those in back row. Photo has been rolled and shows some wear along left/right blank margins w/creasing and pinholes, though these do not greatly affect photo image, which if matted and framed, would display Exc.
