Item Description
Each button is 1.25" and both have the same "What Did The Woggle Bug Say?" text. These buttons were issued in 1904 to promote Frank Baum's newspaper comic page "Queer Visitors From The Marvelous Land Of Oz." The yellow bkg. button is by Pin-Lock w/tin-covered reverse and fixed bar pin. Top back edge has small cello split .25" long by the metal back that makes small bump on upper edge but the button remains totally clean. White bkg. version has Whitehead & Hoag backpaper. Lower right front edge has small 1/16" and 1/8" lt. tan age marks but is o/w clean. Both buttons are the photo plate examples from "Hake's Collectible Pin-Back Buttons 1896-1986" (in the Newspaper section as items #652 and #653). Comes with Hake's COA.
