18" long painted pressed steel toy w/built-in wind-up mechanism on underside and black rubber "Kingsbury Toys" tires. 1938. Scarce toy was produced in two versions w/two color variations. This is less common version w/plastic jeweled "New York" header and embossed "228" license plate. Two-tone lt. blue and cream colors instead of the more commonly seen blue bus. Embossed Greyhounds on sides. Bus has moderate scattered wear, most to roof, which has 1.5" and 1.75" streaked areas of lighter blue paint and scattered scratches w/bare metal showing. Wind-up mechanism works. Fine overall.
