Item Description
Exquisitely hand-decorated porcelain sculpture atop wooden base has impressive overall size of 8.75" tall. Sculpted by Enzo Arzenton, who first started producing sculptures for the Laurenz Disney Collection in 1983 and continued to do so until he retired in 1999, at which time production on all Disney pieces ceased. The production run was supposed to be 5,000 pieces, but as w/nearly every piece in this line, final production was much more limited. The underside of the wood base and individual issue number on accompanying certificate folder (w/photo and hand-inked information) states it is #340 of 5,000 only because these certificates were prepared in advance to the actual production of the sculptures. Sculpture depicts Donald Duck seated upon pile of newspapers (one w/small color image of Donald) while reading "Donald Duck" comics, including a faithful reproduction of the classic "Sheriff Of Bullet Valley" story. A plate w/slice of cake and a fork sit on the ground next to Donald. Front has scroll reading "Walt Disney's Donald Duck." Does not come w/original box but includes original styrofoam packaging and sculpture is Mint as issued. An extraordinary sculpture which is a must-have for collectors of Donald Duck and Capodimonte. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch.
