Item Description
The largest in lead is 90mm (3-9/16") and seems to be Zerbe #62. Has "Liberty" on coronet with "1896" below. Seven stars at left and six stars at right. Denticulated border with "Campaign Souvenir" on reverse half of edge at bottom. Reverse eagle with "United States Of America 16 To 1 - NIT." Finely detailed and nice luster with only a few trivial rub marks. Zerbe calls this "very rare." The second "1896" piece does not have "Liberty" on coronet. It is 84mm (3-3/8"). Seems to be white metal, but plated in brass. Details are crude, right edge has missing notch as cast, reverse details of text around eagle are slightly double-struck. Reading "United States Of America 16 To 1 NIT." VG and a rare variety. The third and smallest is aluminum 77mm (3-1/16") dated "1900" with "Liberty" on coronet and "E Pluribus Unum" above. Finely detailed with glossy gray luster. Reverse eagle surrounded by "United States Of America - In God We Trust - One Dollar." Slight luster off around half of the outer edge but shows little. VF. Scarce in aluminum and this size.
