Item Description
Vintage 1920s wire metal mesh mask w/padded interior top and ear guards as well as padded neck guard. For use in Kendo (Japanese for "Way Of The Sword"), a modern Japanese sport/martial art, which descended from swordsmanship (kenjutsu) and uses bamboo swords (shinai) and protective armor (bogu). Today, it is widely practiced within Japan and many other nations. A physically and mentally challenging activity, Kendo combines martial arts practices/values w/sport-like strenuous physical activity. This mask has original leather strap and shows lt. wear w/aging to padded fabric areas. Fine/VF overall.
