Item Description
27.25x41" one-sheet poster for 1944 Columbia "Li'l Abner" cartoon "Sadie Hawkins Day." Poster features great color art featuring Li'l Abner, Daisy Mae w/three local yokels looking over Li'l Abner's shoulder. Large insert bw image from the cartoon features Li'l Abner and Mammy Yokum. Beginning in 1944, "Li'l Abner" was adapted into a series of color theatrical cartoons for Columbia Pictures. Al Capp was reportedly not pleased w/the results, and the series was discontinued after just five shorts. This poster was for the original release of this cartoon and has been professionally linen-mounted. Originally folded, poster has minimal touch-ups at fold crease intersections but remains bright and clean and displays Exc. as linen-mounted.
