Item Description
7.5x10.25" hardcover has gold-stamped spine "The Blue Beetle - 1940 - V.S. Fox." Volume contains Winter, 1939 #1 to Fall, 1940 #4 issues w/64 pages each. Covers are bright featuring Blue Beetle in classic Golden Age action. Two issues have nice back cover ads for Comicscope featuring character Samson. Blank frontispiece page has nice ink inscription/autograph reading "To Al & Henry:- Best! Jerry Iger 1974." Cartoonist Iger was partners w/"The Spirit" creator Will Eisner w/both men operating the Eisner-Iger shop supplying publishers w/product. Issue #1 has small cellophane tape repair on inside of front cover, a few small tears on first few pages, o/w issues have just minor aging at margin edges. Good/VG overall.
