Item Description
First is 1.25" for the "Janney Common Sense Mill." Has W&H paper, slightly dusty, used 1900-1912. Faint bit of stain around reverse edge but on the front just some faint dots of darker tone around the extreme perimeter while at the top slightly inward is a faint 1/16" gray mark. Button still displays glossy and NM. Above the basket filled with corn at the right the text reads "Has Great Capacity/Grinds Chop Corn And Table Meal/Write For Catalog & Prices." Text promotes one of the features of the machine as "Gearing Runs In Oil." A rare button we've seen about three times. Second is 1.75" without back paper. Center names "Rhea Thielens Implement Co/Peoria" with tiny surrounding text "Agricultural Implements, Wagons, Buggies, Carriages, Binder Twine, Etc." Around this center circle there was once a red sunburst design now almost totally faded. The button still displays extremely well and depicts large shock of corn between the primary text "Corn Carnival Souvenir/Peoria, Ill./October 12 To 15 1899." Small bit of stain around the reverse edge but none of this shows on the front. Both items used for photos in Collectible Pin-Back Buttons 1896-1986. Comes with Hake's COA.
