Item Description
Before we discovered the previous Barbed Wire Fence ribbon badge these two buttons were the primary advertising buttons to document fencing products. Each is 1.5" with the first having W&H paper used 1900-1912 and the second having W&H paper of a different design that was introduced in 1913. Both buttons name the "Square Deal Fence (probably inspired by Theodore Roosevelt's motto) made by the "Keystone Steel & Wire Co., Peoria, Ill." First button had small gray mark on bottom edge now gone and button now displays Mint. Second item showing a hand holding the product has 3/16" hairline surface crack below the text on top edge but still displays totally clean and glossy. There is a virtual pinpoint hole in the cello surface at center but for practical purposes microscopic. These buttons were used for book photos and come with Hake's COA.
