Item Description
Pair of promotional folders issued to theaters in the 1930s to promote Mickey Mouse cartoons and various contests/promotions. First measures 4.75x10.75" and is hand-addressed to "Fox Theatre" and opens to 10.75x13.75" and reveals puzzle contest via newspapers to win prizes, theater tickets, etc. When opened, bottom third of front page has large area of surface paper remnants from sheet once attached but no longer present. Paper seal opened as intended. Fine overall. 6.25x9-3/8" folder opens to 9-3/8x12.5" and shows great photo of theater front w/large group of children wearing Mickey Mouse sweaters and standing w/Old King Cole Mickey display. Folder is a promotional piece from maker of the sweaters (Norwich Knitting Co.) and features ad within showing boy and girl wearing them along w/announcing prize contest. Folder opens once more to 18.75x25" and shows several photos of children wearing Mickey Mouse sweaters and shows great displays. Typed address for Sacramento, CA. Hippodrome Theatre. Folded as issued, w/wear at fold crease intersections. Paper seal opened as intended. Fine overall. First we've seen of either of these promo folders in our 47 years.
