Item Description
Five pieces c.1930s and earlier. Three have chains which are not gold but all five mounts test as 10K gold. Group includes three seldom seen double teeth along with a single which is exceptionally large. We will detail these in the order of our photo. First is the largest charm we have seen. It is 1-3/8" wide by 1-13/16" tall. Front includes initials "BPOE." There is a 3-dimensional elk head with accent that is probably a small real diamond but which has not been tested. Reverse of the piece is hand engraved "J. G. 1915." Next at 1-5/8" tall is another double tooth with the mount also including group initials and dimensional elk head. Engraved on the reverse "W.Gregg/1258/Whittier Cal." Next is another scarce double with the teeth at diagonals to each other. This is 1.5" tall with small clock face in enamel above small 3-dimensional elk head. Next is an exceptionally large single tooth and the entire piece is 2" tall. There are four faceted ruby colored stones at the corners with group initials, enamel clock face emblem and dimensional elk head at the center. Last is 1-5/8" tall with a large single tooth and a circular enameled mount that includes group initials, red star and dimensional elk head. We've not seen this format before. Back is hand engraved with keystone at center enclosing black enamel initials "JCH" with lettering above "266" and date below "5-20-19." See the following lot and we are nearing the end of our remarkable run of these Elk charms. There are a few left for our next auction and as far as we know that will conclude our offerings. These are all Exc. to Mint.
