Item Description
Button sizes are 7/8" up to 2.75". The largest ribbon badge with embossed brass "Colorado" hanger is 8.5" tall. This was issued for a hardware dealers convention in Denver, 1909. Few tiny marks on the ribbon with 1/8" tear on lower right edge but overall condition remains VF with Mint luster on the brass and a Mint celluloid lady. First three buttons in the group show a little edge stain. The first of these is dated for Sept. 1-4 1896 for event in Denver and with button text in Welsh naming a Welsh cultural festival. This early button has covered tin back by Baldwin & Gleason with vertical pin. Next with lightly worn W&H back paper is from 1899 and names "Pueblo Park And Improvement Ass'n." Group includes Denver button dated for 1914 and a self promotion button from "The Colorado Badge And Novelty Co" c.1920s. There is a second ribbon badge for a 1908 hardware dealers convention in Denver. Small mark on the yellow ribbon. Another 1907 item with ribbons celebrates "Strawberry Day in Glenwood Springs, Colo." A second item from this same city is brass suspension dated 1898 for their "Flower Carnival." A cello bar pin, with hanger for ribbon now missing reads "Telluride." Group includes a 1936 Ft. Collins dog tag with light general wear. With the exceptions noted majority of pieces display very cleanly. There is one "Talk Denver" litho button c.1930s but otherwise the pieces are generally 1920s and earlier.
