Item numbers 1063 through 2753 in auction 213
Item Description
When the maker of these flasher portraits went out of business, images intended to go on many different rings were found and some of these Popeye's have since made their way onto rings from the 1960s and newer with navy blue or silver "China" bases. These however are the original and earliest issues from the 1960s. Each base is silver but flashed in purple. Side edges have a few tiny and random flakes of plastic as they came off the sprew. They are essentially Mint as issued. Each ring pictures two characters with these being Popeye and Swee'Pea, Popeye and Olive Oyl, Popeye and Wimpy, Popeye and the buck-toothed character Oscar. Rare in this form.
