Item Description
This rare 1942 ring was offered by Kix Cereal as a bounce-back offer with Lone Ranger military rings in April, 1942. General Mills recorded only 85 requests. Following the General Mills offer, the ring was also offered very briefly by Kellogg’s, this time named as a ‘gold ore’ ring. The brass ring has adjustable bands. The ring sides have an area with small irregular marks, representing the surface of a meteor. The ring top has a metal rim with a clear slightly domed celluloid cover over small rock pebbles. This example has luster off the narrow bands on lower half of the base but near full luster on upper half. Our example in Auction 210 sold post-auction for over $2,000.00. One of 5 examples we've offered in 5 decades.
