Item Description
This button has the same design as one circa 1929-1932 when Mix was the star attraction of the Sells Floto Circus. There is a button with that circus name appearing on the panel where this button has simply the word "Circus." The wording on this button indicates that it was used after Tom Mix purchased the Sam B. Dill Circus in 1935 to create his own "Tom Mix Circus" which toured 1935 into 1938 but folded mid-season for financial reasons. Spring pin joins a 5.5" strap and leather holster. Holster has Indian image on the front beneath title "The Chief." Holster contains cast iron single shot cap gun with "Big Chief" on one side. Gun is unused and Mint. Back of the button has tiny area where collet is a little flat but this does not affect the front view which is glossy Mint. Only example we've seen.
