Item Description
1.25" button without dot pattern and with slight color tinting on the figures and foliage. Rim reads "The Son Of Tarzan - The Mystic Order Of The Jungle." Celluloid has 3/16" cello split along reverse collet causing tiny bump barely seen from front on left edge. Front rim has about a dozen faint tan dots of age on outer rim, none on the scene. Of the few we've seen before, this is the fourth to include a back paper which reads "Kraus M'fg. Co. 220 W. 42d St. New York U.S.A." This serial was by National Film Corp. and pictures Tarzan as played by P. Dempsey Tabler who is shown next to a man dressed as an ape at the lower left and with a terrified woman in the background at right. Still a beautiful example with crisp details. Lovely subtle coloration and exceptionally high gloss. Auction results as high as $3,500 and our last with a 1" reverse cello split exceeded $1,800. A modest opening bid.
