Item numbers 1063 through 2753 in auction 213
Item Description
This ring was used in the USA with the inner band having only the trademark symbol of the maker Uncas. This, however, is the Canadian version with the addition of the words "Made In U.S.A." The ring was issued with a solid metal band. However this example must have been too small for the owner who at the bottom just slightly to right of center put a 1/16" diagonal cut through the metal so that the bands would expand to a slightly larger size. The narrow bands butt up against one another almost perfectly and the silvering on the piece remains highly lustrous and NM. Likewise, the red/black enameling on the top is essentially flawless. A gorgeous but altered example and thus the opening bid is about 50% of what it would be otherwise.
